The card can't be used for ID purposes. This is a negative. The dd214's with seal are a positive, because they can be used for ID purposes. However, it's not convenient to carry a DD214, if you need to have an ID. [The card can be used to establish your status as a veteran for almost all discounts available for veterans. Your service, of course, is always supported by your DD214 - which we provide as a backup.]
